I love when photography comes full circle, and Emily & Ty’s family session at McKinney Falls State Park in Austin, Texas was the perfect example. I first met Emily and Ty back in December 2018 when I had the honor of capturing their wedding day. Since then, I’ve photographed her sister’s wedding, and later this year I’ll be photographing the youngest Schiller sister’s wedding. Somewhere along the way, I’ve been officially named the an honorary schiller—and it’s truly one of the best titles I could ever hold!
Over the years, I’ve also photographed Emily’s maternity session, so it felt incredibly special to now capture their first official portraits as a family of three. Their sweet little boy, Owen, just turned one year old. With his blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and the sweetest personality, he stole the show during this session.
We chose McKinney Falls State Park in Austin for this shoot because it’s one of the most stunning locations for family photography. With its natural waterfalls, rocky landscapes, and beautiful trees, it provided the perfect backdrop for capturing both candid family moments and timeless portraits. With Emily and Ty living about 2 hours from me, it was the perfect meeting space providing Texas Hill Country feel.
Watching Emily and Ty step into parenthood has been such a joy, and being able to document each stage of their journey is exactly why I love being a San Antonio and Austin family photographer. From their wedding day to maternity photos and now family portraits with Owen, these images tell their story in such a meaningful way.
If you’re looking for a family photographer in San Antonio, Austin, or the Texas Hill Country, I’d love to help capture your family’s milestones. Whether it’s celebrating a baby’s first birthday, updating family photos, or choosing a beautiful outdoor location like McKinney Falls, your session should reflect your family’s personality and joy.
